DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone)
Adrenal hormone (DHEA) has been dubbed as the “mother of all hormones”. DHEA is known as the most abundant steroid in the human body and involved in the manufacture of testosterone, estrogen, progesterone. The decline of DHEA with age paralells that of HGH, so by age sixty-five, your body makes only 10 to 20 percent of what it did at age twenty. When your body lacks of DHEA hormone, persistent fatigue, depression, anxiety, hypersensitivity to noise, loss of libido, dry eyes, skin and hair may appear. DHEA play many beneficial roles in human body metabolism. One of DHEA’s role is as a potent immune system booster, to help our bodies fight bacterial and viral infection. Low levels of DHEA have also been shown to be predictive of heart disease in men, as well as of breast cancer and ovarian cancer in women. In memory function, DHEA helps maintain brain cells and protect against Alzheimer’s disease. Other than that, DHEA may also have value in increasing the muscle mass.
Fast Facts:
